We've reached the last eight of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy and I'm pleased to say that the BFSFA still has a healthy representation of three teams left in.  The quarter finals take place on Sunday for two of our sides.  As expected, both face stern tasks.  Reform Health Club travel to play Southport & Ainsdale FC whilst Division 1 side Blackhurst Budd FC hope to extend their magnificent run in the competition away at top Blackburn side Mill Hill FC.  Poulton SFC must wait as their potential opponents Ossy Hotspurs and Plungington Celtic meet in a re-arranged tie.  The remaining quarter final is an all Preston affair between New Farrington and AFC Lostock Hall.  If Poulton and Reform both progress then they'll meet in an epic semi final - fingers crossed for that as well as a Blackhurst Budd victory.

Updated: Sunday sees our four remaining BFSFA teams up against out of town opposition in the next round of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy. Three of them are away from home.  We've had a lot of rain this week and a lot more expected this afternoon (Saturday) so fingers crossed they get played although I note that Preston council pitches are off already.  Bathroom Solutions make their 4th attempt to play their 3rd round tie v Lostock Hall and that's now at Commonedge 3.  Good luck to all of our teams. Just back from the County Ground, Leyland where BFSFA side Poulton SFC were up against Preston side Greenlands FC in the prestigious Lancashire Sunday Trophy Final.  Both teams had done well to reach the final knocking out a number of so called 'Big Guns' along the way including Poulton's impressive 6-0 win against favourites and previous winners Copperpot FC of the Rochdale Sunday Football League.  Poulton were looking to be the first winners of the Trophy from the BFSFA since the 1993/94 season.
