We've reached the last eight of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy and I'm pleased to say that the BFSFA still has a healthy representation of three teams left in.  The quarter finals take place on Sunday for two of our sides.  As expected, both face stern tasks.  Reform Health Club travel to play Southport & Ainsdale FC whilst Division 1 side Blackhurst Budd FC hope to extend their magnificent run in the competition away at top Blackburn side Mill Hill FC.  Poulton SFC must wait as their potential opponents Ossy Hotspurs and Plungington Celtic meet in a re-arranged tie.  The remaining quarter final is an all Preston affair between New Farrington and AFC Lostock Hall.  If Poulton and Reform both progress then they'll meet in an epic semi final - fingers crossed for that as well as a Blackhurst Budd victory.

Updated: Sunday sees our four remaining BFSFA teams up against out of town opposition in the next round of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy. Three of them are away from home.  We've had a lot of rain this week and a lot more expected this afternoon (Saturday) so fingers crossed they get played although I note that Preston council pitches are off already.  Bathroom Solutions make their 4th attempt to play their 3rd round tie v Lostock Hall and that's now at Commonedge 3.  Good luck to all of our teams. Here are the fixtures;

Last night saw the playing of the 45th Gledhill Cup Final at what we all hope will be the Premier Division ground of Blackpool FC at Bloomfield Road.  Regulars Poulton SFC were there once again and up against Parkside FC.  Here are a few pictures and a brief match summary.

You may note that a little further down the homepage there is an article advertising free room hire for club presentation nights at the Co-op Club on Preston New Road.  It was sent in by ex BFSFA referee Martin Rogers (Pictured). Unfortunately, we've received the very sad news that Martin suddenly passed away over the weekend at the age of 43.  Read on for more details.

Next Sunday sees Round 4 of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy.  There are four of our sides left and all of them face difficult fixtures.  Here's the line up of games.
