Sportspy Reports 2009/10

Hi my name is Chris Walker aka Squiggy. I run a sunday league football team in Shrewsbury called Belle Vue FC with team manager Mike Bradshaw. You can find details of our team on our website http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/bellevuefc01/. In the month of February we have a few birthdays to celebrate and we're thinking of heading Blackpool way. We would like to try and arrange a friendly game against a lower tier side from Blackpool whilst we are up there. I say lower tier because we are not a good side ourselves and would prefer a competitive game. Regards, Chris Walker, Belle Vue F.C This email address is being protected from spambots. Another trip to Boundary Park, this time to call in at two of the games the games that were being played at the Grange Park venue.  In the 4th Round of the Gledhill Cup FC Eden were at home to Bloomfield Vets FC and in Division 1 the Old Town Hall FC were playing Highbury Vets FC.
So who is 'the fairest of them all'? And which team might be the roughest, dirtiest bunch of ***** in the area? Find out with the latest Fair Play Marks just released by the BFSFA.

Here are next Sunday's provisional fixtures courtesy of the BFSFA.  Please clarify your fixtures with both the opposition and the referee.  If in doubt please contact Carole Cox.  This week again sees last Sunday's postponed Lancashire Sunday Trophy matches hopefully being replayed as well as a number of games in Round 4 of this season's Gledhill Cup.
At Collins Park, Blackpool watching the Lancashire Sunday Trophy match between Quilligans FC who were up against last season's winners and Rochdale champions Copperpot FC in Round 4.  Both sides were aiming for a place in the last sixteen in this notoriously tough competition.  This was one of only two games across the Fylde Coast to survive the week's wet weather.
Moments ago referee Mr Cropp passed the Collins Park pitch fit for play after a 9am inspection.  Quilligans FC will take on current holders Copperpot FC from Rochdale in the Lancashire Sunday Trophy (11am kick off).  No butty van though I'm afraid so be sure to make alternative arrangements if you're coming down to watch what should be an entertaining game.  The match between Skye and Fleetwood Kings is also on.  FC Loco have set off in hope to Blackburn and no news on the Spindles match.

As the football calendar has been ruined this weekend, the idea for a tournament at 'Play Football' (Previously VIDA) has been pitched for those teams without a game on Sunday morning, something to get out of bed for!  Any teams interested should call 01253 391391 and ask for Mark Campbell ASAP.  We expect it will start mid morning and last until early afternoon...prizes to be confirmed but bragging rights will be a plenty!

Friday (17:00) - You'll have seen from the Shoutbox that the incessant rain has already had a negative impact on Sunday's football programme.  All Blackpool and Wyre Council pitches including Commonedge are already off.  Grounds such as Boundary Park, Moor Park, Stanley Park, Anchorsholme, Broadwater, Cottam Hall, Thornton Sports Centre and Fleetwood Road, Thornton are also included.  Fylde pitches will be inspected on Saturday so stay tuned for regular updates.  Beacon Hill is also off and we await news from Blackpool Wren Rovers.  By Saturday we expect the fixtures article below to contain only details of games on.  It will not be a long list.  And don't even think about organising friendlies on pitches that have been called off - get on the beach.
