Sportspy Reports 2009/10

The first 'Sportspy Reports' from HM Prison, Kirkham where home side The Old Town Hall FC welcomed promotion rivals FC Loco for a top of the table, promotion chasing league encounter in Division 1.

At the County Ground, Leyland, Blackpool Wren Rovers FC were up against Garstang FC in the final of the prestigious Lancashire Shield.  Wren's have only lost four games all season in the league and two of those defeats came against tonight's opponents.  It was to be a memorable match that would be settled in extra time after a seven goal thriller.

At Boundary Park, Blackpool four Divisional Cup semi-finals were taking place.  The big guns had made it through to the last four in each of the Division 2 and Division 3 competitions but who would make it throught to the respective finals?

For the second day in succession it was the long trip to Fleetwood.  After yesterday's entertaining yet slightly fortunate 'Cod Army' win over Droylsden it was back to grassroots action on Broadwaters where three games were taking place in the spring sunshine.

It may have been the last Sunday of March but as the clocks went forward it was still cold across the Coast this morning.  Out at Lytham, Mythop Leisure FC were at home to FC Brun Grove in Division 2A league action still focussed on a title challenge.

At Commonedge Road today watching Division 2B title challengers Progress Sports & Social FC for the first time this season as they were away at the No 4 Pub FC.
